Being able to forgive

by Glenford Samuel
(Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago)

One of the most successful ideas I use to help me to forgive my spouse when I believe we have wronged each other is to ask myself "...Do I ever get angry with me..." usually the answer is "Yes" then I tell myself...I still get angry with me, then how much more so I should be understanding and able to forgive my spouse. I love her then I should find a way to forgive and let go and let God have his way.

And for those who are Christians and may subscribe to the Lord's Prayer...within the Lord's Prayer there is "forgive me as I forgive others"... so if I want forgiveness I must first forgive.

These are just some thoughts I have used to help me deal with forgiveness and I thought I should share.
